Most tv shows have about 8 episodes complete, this is what we'll get to see. Some shows hauled ass & got extra episodes done so that they could benefit from the strike (if Friday Night Lights -which has 15 episodes done-is the only new show on Friday nights, will people watch it?) Other shows (like the office) halted production immediately because stars (like Steve Carrell) are writers too & are refusing to cross the picket line, even to film already finished scripts. But, the stinker is for those of us that are Lost and/or 24 fans. Lost, which was held until January in order to run straight through without repeats, will air its 8 episodes in January. If the writers strike hasn't ended by the time those episodes finish airing, we probably won't get a new lost until January 2009!!!!! Fox is opting to hold 24 until the strike is over so that the show can air uniterrupted. Both of these ideas stink & I don't like them. I don't want to watch 1/2 a season & I don't want to wait until next year to watch the whole season. Booo to this strike!!
Oh wait, but it gets worse. Rememeber how just last week I reported that Joshua Jackson (aka Pacey Whitter) was going to be making an extended appearance at Seattle Grace? Well they hadn't finished those scripts yet, which means that those episodes won't be filmed until the strike is over, which means that Pacey MIGHT NOT go to Seattle Grace!!! Boooooo Bah! Hisss!
Enough of this strike business, it is depressing me. So, the season is about 2 months old & I have settled into my schedule. Bionic Woman has been deleted from my season pass list, and even though I like it, I think that Journeyman is not far behind. It is just the last show that I decide to watch & actually we are 2 episodes deep on the dvr. It just doesn't hold my attention very well. Ehh.
As the season goes on, I'm getting to like some shows more & more. I noticed that there are some characters that I especially like this year. Let's take a look, shall we?
KT's Top 5 Standout (New) Characters
5. Chuck "Chuck" I'm finding myself like this show more & more as the season goes on. Chuck is so darn likable, silly & dorky. He's slowly adjusting to this new life, trying to keep his sister & best friend protected while working with the CIA & NSA. The spy stories are more fun than super serious & I like that about this show. Granted, the show also has a strong supporting cast (yeah Adam Baldwin), but I find myself enjoying Chuck the most.

4. The Cast of Samantha Who? I know that it is supposed to be one character from the show but I think everyone on this show is doing an outstanding job. Christina Applegate is wonderfully awkward & sweet. Jean Smart is perfect as the eccentric mom trying to reconnect with her daughter. Jennifer Esposito is delightlfully wicked as Sam's shallow best friend. And Barry Watson is charming as Sam's ex who may be falling for her again. I'm not a big sitcom fan, but I enjoy this 1/2 hour of sugary fun!

3. Cooper, "Private Practice" I have my issues with this show, still. Hello, did you see this week? You're telling me that a woman in labor could hold Taye Diggs hostage? Seriously? Anyhoo, Cooper, the pediatrician in love with resident psychiatrist Violet, is perfectly played by Paul Aldestein. I think part of the reason I like Cooper so much is because last year he was the evil Secret Service man on Prison Break. But now he is all lovable. He's the only one on that show that is never annoying and quite often, he makes a funny!

2. Charlie Crews, "Life" I wasn't going to watch this show. But then those NBC ads starting to invade my brain & I felt compelled to watch. The premise is simple enough, innocent ex cop gets released from jail 12 years after he was convicted of murder. I'm not really a cop-show kinda girl, but the character of Crews fascinates me. What kind of man comes out? I like how Charlie appreciates the simple things in life (like light & fruit) and also how he is all zen & sees things like no one else. The stories on the show are pretty good, but really it is watching Detective Charlie Crews that keeps me interested.

1. Emerson Cod, "Pushing Daisies" I've always liked Chi McBride, back to those Boston Public days, but there is something special about the way he plays private investigator Emerson Cod. He's got an extra twinkle in his eye, like McBride is really enjoying the role. McBride is probably the second best scene stealer on tv today (no. 1 being Mr. Neil Patrick Harris). I often find myself laughing out loud at his lines. He's reason enough to give this show a try.

In holiday news, CBS has scheduled Frosty for Dec. 7 & Rudolph for Dec. 4. I think they air all those shows too early, so Jay & I go through our holiday collection starting in the middle of the month, watching a different show every night.
That about wraps things up on my end. I went through all my old emails & posted some favorite KT updates so that I'd have them on the blog. They are up now with the original post date. I was cracking up reading some of them. I use to sign my updates Mrs. Chasez. So long ago!!! I'm trying to find the one I did after taking 3 xenadrine. Remember? when I got all mad & wrote a letter to EW defending *Nsync. Man I miss xenadrine!
Oh & if I don't post before Thanksgiving, have a good Turkey Day! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it is the only "true" holiday left. No presents, no commercialism...just a ridiculous amount of food! Yay!

What about Dirty, Sexy Money. I had forgotten how good an actor Peter Krause was and that whole cast is great. If you don't watch, I highly recommend
