So, you all remember like 5 months ago when I had that great idea to make a list of the top 100 songs? Some of you even sent me a list of top 10 songs? Well, after months and months of going through songs, I’m finally done. My first plan was to make an unbiased list of the 100 greatest songs…but things have changed a bit. I realized it was pretty much impossible for me to make an UNBIASED list. You all know I’m not a musician. And I’m sure by now its no secret I have a soft spot for dancing singing boys and 80’s music. I don’t look at a song and think about intensity of lyrics, or depth, or multi layers of harmony or any of that. For me, a good song is one that makes my stomach jump or drop, that makes me stop what I’m doing, to remember someone, smile, cry or break out into full on dance….If one of these songs was on the radio, and you tried to change the station, I would break your wrist. So this is my list. My top 100 songs. I’m not saying that these are the greatest songs ever made…but as I look over this list, pretty much everything you need to know about me is represented. Most of these songs remind me of you guys, there’s a story lurking behind most songs. But I don’t want any type of hate mail, there are incredible songs by amazing people that are not on this list. That’s not the point. And I’m sure I’m gonna get a bunch of crap as you near the top 25…I’ve come to a horrifying realization... it seems I’m still a sappy little girl who’s a sucker for gooey love songs …I’m sure some of you will remember why I’ve put manyof these songs on here (like oh god, when buffy’s at the prom and they’re playing wild horses or listening to low rider 85 times in front of perry, or around the world during our helyar days) So if you want to start bashing me, here’s your first piece of ammo...there are 9 nsync songs on this list. And yes, i know that the fact that i actually did this means i have no life.

I think there are maybe 2 songs in the top 25 that aren’t more than 3 years old. What can I say, I’m a cancer. We’re moody creatures who hold on to everything.
