9/10/01 The MJ Event

Hello all...well jimmy and headed to NYC friday night for the big MJ event.....knowing that my boys were going to be there, i thoughtfully brought jimmy his own binoculars because we all know how i am when jc hits the stage---well we did a lot of waiting...a lot...the ticket said 7:40 sharp but the lights didn't go down until about 8:30 which left jimmy and i plenty of time for celebrity stalking with our binocs......using our skills, we saw...david hasselhoff (complete in a black leather shirt), paul shaffer, busta rhymes, nelly, jermaine dupri and the st. lunatics, corey feldman (that was so my skills) maculy culkin, liz taylor, wade robson (the little hottie choreographer for nsync and brit--he's a hottie in real life) bobby brown (i missed him but jimmy caught a glimpse) and in the big upset of the evening--jimmy spied jc and justin and i couldn't catch a glimpse (michael had a little celebrity section that some of the guests hung out in until it was time for them to go on)....OH!!!!! I almost forgot--dirk from survivor walked right by me, and i was like..DIRK! but jimmy didn't know who he was....
anyway...finally the damn show started with mya, usher and whitney they did wanna be starting something and it was pretty cool...
there were other performances/appearances by:
marlon brando (who babbled on like a crack addict about children with their legs getting blown off..and some other upbeat stuff..it was kinda funny cause the crowd started to boo him...

i just want to take a moment to point out the crowd was pretty much asleep during most of these performances because after each one there would be like a 20 min lapse...but the trl artists got the crowd hoppin and that billy gillman can sing his little booty off....
ok, so then the jackson 5 comes out and they kick it old school with the old moves and everything...that was pretty awesome...except FOR THE BIG DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE EVENING.....
yes, i was there to see mj, but come on, let's not fool ourselves, i probably wouldn't have made such an effort to go if my boys weren't going to be there...well let me just tell you...dancing machine starts they come out...pop like 5 dance moves and that's it....they did like a verse and that was it! they came and gone so fast they i didn't even get to look at each one of them...plus, jc was wearing red leather pants...whoa momma, so that took up most of my attention and before i knew it, jc and his red leather pants were gone!!!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!! it was the most horrible tease of my life...i kinda felt like a drug addict..waiting for the score only to get a taste that makes the intensity of wanting and needing more!!!!! At that point, i could have been completely happy for mj to sit back down and let nsync perform for the rest of the night, but that was it, they were gone....
so thank god britney came out next and i've never seen her live, so they got me out of my jc leather pants coma...
you couldn't really hear her too well which of course meant she was really singing, but she looked hot, and i think jimmy finally realized how i feel everytime jc hits the stage....he almost killed me and took the super binoculars so he could get a better gimpse of ms. spears (i know i havent' mentioned it before, but our seats kicked ass..better than my madonna or janet seats-you didn't need the binocs, but when you used them you could see sweat--although this was kind of a negative when looking directly at mj--his face is scareeeee!) i though jimmy might have a heart attack because britney dress almost flew up twice---she didn't dance at all--but it was cool just to see her on stage--sorry for all you guys though--cbs can't air britney's performance because of the whole hbo thing...
mj did billy jean and his new single then slash came out and they did black or white and beat it...i have to say beat it was the high point of the whole performance--slash kicked major ass and to see that famous beat it dance in real life...wow....it was also rather amusing to see my brother rockin out all mj style--it was like he was 4 years old again....
then they brought all the stars out to do a little we are the world rendition...this was quite exciting because nsync came back out and all the celebrities kinda hung out on the stage for 10 min while they were getting the set ready...well, needless to say my binocs were glued to jc for the entire 10 min...him and those red leather pants...it was cool to see the guys during an "off" time, sometimes i wonder if they are really as close as they portray themselves...but they were so cute...the whole time they werre goofing off with each other and laughing and whispering.....and here's an interesting point--i saw lance in player mode..while jc, chris and joey were off fooling around with marc anthony-lance was macking on the ladies of destiny's child....this boy aint no ellen degeneres wannabe anymore...it was funny because jimmy kept trying to pry my fingers from the binocs or push me, but he was unsuccessful..also, i thought it was kind of cute that justin didn't come out..because britney couldn't come out because she can't be in any televised portion, so he stayed backstage with his girl...
oh, so also doing the we are the world thing was dionne warwick, kenny rogers, quincy jones, and yoko ono, but as i said before i saw only thing--(all together now...red leather pants) i tried to find a pic so you could understand but so far i have been unsuccessful, but i will keep the search going....and oh yeah, at the end, jc and monica were kinda making their way towards each other, that was amusing to watch as well..
so kids that's the report from the mj show, sorry it was so long, but too bad.....
